Trading Towns review

QoL is honestly terrible. I had to figure out most of how to play from trial-and-error + restarts.

You set up buildings to gather and process resources into products. Then you sell those products to households. If you satisfy a lot of needs, household gold production increases.

However, the main mechanics seemed interesting enough that I was willing to tough it out. Unfortunately, once you get a production chain set up, the game basically felt done once you could buy all the buildings and just wait. While there are other mechanics plus prestige stuff, it honestly just didn’t feel worth it to me. Balance, needless to say, is kind of terrible, especially in the early game.

Get this game if: • you don’t like idle games • you want to study new ideas and mechanics

Don’t get this game if: • you’re looking for a polished game. It’s still very rough around the edges.
