[m] an idle nightmare 2: SABBATH review
2

I really liked the first one, but I'm sad to say this is a miss for me. The art style and music/sound design remain strong, but this one mostly foregoes the creepy vibe of the first idle nightmare for comedy which just does not work at all. There are also entirely useless gameplay mechanics, like a weird mini-game when you sleep that you don't need to touch to beat the game. With weaker gameplay that also doesn't seem to tie into the themes of the game, that's a much bigger demerit. There are three endings, but they're just single slides with some flavor text, and once you get a grip on the game you can easily get all three endings in under an hour. I'll play idle nightmare 3, but I hope the dev uses the first game as the model.
